The attractive Butia Palm, scientific name Butia Capitata, is a tiny, single-trunk, evergreen palm with strong leaves that bend inward toward the trunk. Small, creamy-yellow, fruity-scented flowers that can grow up to 3 feet long appear in long spikes throughout the summer (90 cm). Following them are colourful clusters of orange-yellow, sweet, edible fruits that are the size of dates and have a strong pineapple flavour. Jelly Palm is a simple-to-grow palm that can withstand heat, salt, and drought.
