Rare Sapotaceae tree Manilkara salzmannii has a broad, somewhat rounded crown and is an evergreen. It has a straight, cylindrical bole that measures 40–70 cm in diameter and can reach heights of 10–25 metres. They are indigenous to southern, eastern, and north-eastern Brazil in northern South America. Locals forage for the edible fruit in the wild and eat it. Fruits with a 3 cm diameter and 1-2 firm seeds encased in sweet, juicy pulp. Additionally, the tree provides wood and latex for usage locally.
