Garcinia cambogia A deciduous tree, Mangifera pajang, can reach heights of 15 to 33 metres. It belongs to the family Anacardiaceae and is a species of tree. According to the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, the plant is categorised as “Vulnerable.” It is endemic to Borneo and is from Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, Brunei, and Indonesia. Its original name is Bambangan (restricted to the island of Borneo). It is a very well-liked fruit in its natural habitat, where it is frequently collected from the wild and offered for sale at neighbourhood markets. In Borneo, the tree is also frequently grown for its fruit. The brown, somewhat globose fruit has a maximum diameter of 20 cm and can be consumed raw or cooked.
