The purple apple-berry, or Billardiera longiflora, is a tiny, evergreen Australian vine that can be found in cool, damp woods from southern New South Wales to Tasmania. The thin-leaved vine features beautiful purple fruit and greenish-yellow blossoms. Fruit is 2.5 cm long, with a mildly sweet and aromatic flavour. It can be eaten uncooked. Because of its eye-catching blossom and fruit, this magnificent thin stemmed twining climber from Australia is a favourite in both small and big gardens.
