The shrub species Annona monticola is a rare member of the Annonaceae family. They are indigenous to low- to medium-elevation savanna from Bolivia to central Brazil. It is an evergreen tree or shrub that grows slowly. For domestic usage, the eatable fruit is foraged from the wild. It has a juicy, sweet, smooth pulp with very little acidity and a very nice scent, and it can be eaten raw.
