Brazilian-born Duguetia echinophora is a graceful-appearing, slowly-growing Annonaceae family evergreen tree. It rarely develops like a shrub and typically reaches a height of 15 to 20 metres. For better growth, the tree prefers sandy, well-drained soil. For domestic usage, the eatable fruit is foraged from the wild. Fruit is green when young, turning red when mature, and the edible pulp is orange. One of the best-tasting Duguetia is supposed to be this one. The fiberless orange flesh is incredibly creamy and tastes somewhat like a cross between cantaloupe and an anona squamose. After 5 years from seed, a tree begins to develop fruit.
